The Fight At The 2017 LA Fit Expo – IT’S FAKE
For those of you who don’t know, 5% Nutrition company owner Rich Piana got into a bit of a scuffle at this weekend’s LA Fit Expo. Apparently, one of his former sponsored athletes who goes by “Mac Trucc” had a confrontation with Rich at his booth. After a couple minutes of challenging each other to fight outside, Mac Trucc tries to throw a couple punches at Rich Piana and the “fight” is broken up soon afterwards. Here’s a video recap of it:
As you can see a couple minutes into the video, it was barely a fight at all and no one was seriously hurt. After lunging in to throw a couple punches, Mac Trucc is restrained while Rich Piana calmly stays off from him & does not escalate the situation. People, know it when you see it. IT’S A WORK! It’s staged. It’s fake, and this is the shit people will do for YouTube views. Two well known guys (….on the internet, at least) with a lot on the line to lose are really going to fight at a public venue? Not worth it at all, and for what? Everyone is reacting on the internet to it, and I suppose that this post is guilty of doing so as well. RxMuscle is covering it, Facebook is eating all the news up, and this is what everyone will be talking about when the 2017 LA Fit Expo is mentioned. Let’s forget about all the powerlifting that went on there – the stream was shitty anyways, so I couldn’t tell you what people ended up lifting. Let’s talk about 2 big social media personalities that fought quicker than Conor McGregor versus Jose Aldo, but no one gets knocked the fuck out. Actually, no dents or scratches were left at all. Just a bunch of cameras and phones ready to be baited into the spectacle.
I’m glad nonsense like this hasn’t found its way into powerlifting. Let your lifting do the talking and don’t try to sell me with your gimmick about bacon and donuts. The great thing about the platform is that it doesn’t give a damn about how popular you are on Instagram or how awesome you try to make yourself out to be. It is a place where the truth about one’s character and work ethic gets exposed, and you either get the lift or you don’t. Leave this crap to the social media junkies and keep working on your craft.
